AI-Driven Solutions for Sustainable Horticulture in East African Community(EAC) - case of Rwanda and Kenya

The horticulture value chain in East Africa (EAC) faces numerous challenges, including resource inefficiency, climate variability, and market access issues. Invest For Solidarity and Sustainability (IFSS) and RCID aims to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance sustainability and productivity within this sector. The project focuses on developing AI-driven solutions that can optimize resource usage, predict climate impacts, and improve supply chain logistics. By applying classroom knowledge of AI and data analytics, learners will explore how technology can address these challenges. The goal of the project is to create a prototype or model that demonstrates the potential of AI in transforming the horticulture value chain, ultimately contributing to economic growth and environmental sustainability in the region .
